The CarCoding app allows you to modify settings for the BMW Car Access System using an ELM327 BLE OBD2 adapter. This unit manages doors, windows, Comfort opening and closing, and battery functions. For F and G series vehicles, the unit is read from the car via SVK.
CarCoding provides access to eighteen configurable settings within the Car Access System. You can adjust options such as turning off the Auto Start Stop function by default, enabling automatic door locking, and setting convenient opening with remote control.
Convenient opening/closing

| Convenient opening | Enable/disable the convenient opening. During convenient opening the windows are opened and the power folding mirrors are unfolded. For a convenient opening the unlock button on the remote control has to be pressed and held. When using Comfort Access, the door handle has to be gripped and held. |
| Convenient opening with remote control | Enable/disable the convenient opening with the remote control. For convenient opening with the remote control, the unlock button has to be pressed and held. |
| Convenient opening delay rear windows | The delay at which the rear windows are opened during convenient opening. |
| Convenient opening delay sunroof | The delay at which the sunroof is opened during convenient opening. |
| Convenient closing | Enable/disable the convenient closing. During convenient closing the windows are closed and the power folding mirrors are folded in. To trigger convenient closing the lock button on the remote control has to be pressed and held. Please note that this option does not work for convertibles. |
| Convenient closing with remote control | Enable/disable the convenient closing with the remote control. For convenient closing with the remote control, the lock button has to be pressed and held. Please note that this option does not work for convertibles. |
| Convenient closing with Comfort Access | Enable/disable the convenient closing with the Comfort Access. For convenient closing with the Comfort Access the door handle has to be touched and held at the ribbed surface. Please note that this option does not work for convertibles. |

| Convenient closing delay front windows | The delay at which the front windows are closed during convenient closing. |

Doors/windows

| Horn signal when locking the car with engine running | Enable/disable the horn signal that sounds when locking the car with the engine running. |
| Lock doors automatically | The doors are locked automatically when reaching the set speed. |
| Unlock doors automatically | The doors are unlocked automatically when the key is removed. Please note that this only works if the doors have been locked automatically before. |
Auto Start Stop function

| Auto Start Stop function off by default | Set the Auto Start Stop function to off by default when the car is started. Please note that the Auto Start Stop function is automatically activated again in ECO PRO driving mode. |
| Auto Start Stop function memory | Save the last used Auto Start Stop function setting for the next start of the car. Please note that the Auto Start Stop function is automatically activated again in ECO PRO driving mode. |
Audio

| Shut off iDrive system when driver door is opened | Enable/disable the automatic shut-off of the iDrive system when the driver door is opened. |
Battery

| Battery type | The type and capacity of the 12 V battery. Please note that this value must only be modified if the battery in the car has been replaced. After coding, the battery replacement has to be registered using “BimmerLink” additionally. |
Mirrors
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Fold/unfold mirrors automatically (1 of 2) | The mirrors are folded automatically when the car is locked with the remote control or Comfort Access and unfolded again when the car is unlocked. Please note that your car has to be equipped with power folding mirrors and that this option does not work for convertibles. “Fold/unfold mirrors automatically (2 of 2)” in the “Footwell Module” control unit has to be enabled additionally. Use a backup to revert this coding if needed after it has been applied. |
