The CarCoding app connects to your BMW via an ELM327 BLE OBD2 adapter to access the Roof Function Center. This unit manages interior lighting and is found in F/G series vehicles, where it is read from the car via SVK. You can modify eight specific settings within this module.
CarCoding allows you to adjust eight settings in the Roof Function Center. Examples include acoustical lock/unlock confirmation, alarm sound, confirmation sound volume, and interior motion detection. You can also configure the OBD alarm and close roof automatically.
Acoustical confirmation

| Confirmation sound volume | The volume of the confirmation sound that is played when locking/unlocking the car. |
| Confirmation sound frequency | The frequency of the confirmation sound that is played when locking/unlocking the car. |
| Confirmation sound duration | The duration of the confirmation sound that is played when locking/unlocking the car. |
Alarm system
| Setting | Description |

| Alarm sound | The alarm sound that is played when the alarm is triggered. |
| OBD alarm | The alarm is triggered when the vehicle is locked and communication via the OBD port is detected. Please note that this function requires the car to be equipped with an alarm system. |
| Interior motion detection | Enable/disable the interior motion detection of the alarm system. Please note that this function requires the car to be equipped with an alarm system. |
Doors/windows

| Close roof automatically (1 of 2) | The roof closes automatically to the closed or tilted position when rain is detected or after 6 hours. Please also enable “Close roof automatically (2 of 2)” in the “Headunit”. Once coded, the feature can be enabled via iDrive under: Car > Settings > Doors/vehicle access. Use a backup to revert this coding if needed after it has been applied. |
