The BMW Body Domain Controller manages lighting, doors, windows, and comfort opening or closing functions. CarCoding connects to this unit via an ELM327 BLE OBD2 adapter on iPhone or Android. The controller has four versions, and for F/G series vehicles, the unit is read from the car via SVK.

CarCoding allows changes to 138 settings across sections like steering wheel heating, driving mode, and ambient lighting. Users can adjust specific options such as default driving mode, brake force display activation speed, and wipe cycles after front washing.

Welcome Lights

Setting	Description
Welcome Light in darkness only	Enable/disable the activation of the Welcome light in darkness only.
Welcome Lights brightness	The brightness of the Welcome Lights. Please note that this option only works for cars equipped with halogen or xenon headlights.
Welcome Light activation	The position of the light switch at which the Welcome Light is activated.
Welcome Light lighting duration	The lighting duration of the Welcome Light.
Welcome Lights low beam	The low beam is turned on with the Welcome Lights. Please note that this option only works for cars equipped with halogen or xenon headlights.
Welcome Lights high beam	The high beam is turned on with the Welcome Lights. Please note that this option only works for cars equipped with halogen or xenon headlights.
Welcome Lights parking lights front	The front parking lights are turned on with the Welcome Lights.
Welcome Lights daytime running light	The daytime running light is turned on with the Welcome Lights. Please note that this option only works for cars equipped with halogen or xenon headlights.
Welcome Lights central turn signals	The central turn signals are turned on with the Welcome Lights. Please note that this option only works for cars equipped with halogen or xenon headlights.

Setting	Description
LED conversion low beam	Activate this function when the lamps for the corresponding lights have been replaced with LEDs in order to prevent errors in the vehicle from being displayed and the LEDs from flickering. Use a backup to revert this coding if needed after it has been applied.
LED conversion daytime running lights	Activate this function when the lamps for the corresponding lights have been replaced with LEDs in order to prevent errors in the vehicle from being displayed and the LEDs from flickering. Use a backup to revert this coding if needed after it has been applied.

Ambient lighting

Setting	Description
Ambient lighting color contour	The color of the ambient lighting in the upper part of the interior for the color setting “Bronze”.
Ambient lighting color	The color of the ambient lighting in the lower part of the interior for the color setting “Bronze”.
Ambient lighting brightness decoupling from instrument cluster	Enable/disable the decoupling of the brightness of the ambient lighting from the brightness of the instrument cluster.
Ambient lighting color top	The color of the ambient lighting in the top part of the interior for the color setting “Orange”.
Ambient lighting color center	The color of the ambient lighting in the center part of the interior for the color setting “Orange”.
Ambient lighting color bottom	The color of the ambient lighting in the bottom part of the interior for the color setting “Orange”.
Ambient lighting color (i-level 22-07 and later)	The color of the ambient lighting in the upper part of the interior for the color setting “Ivory”.
Ambient lighting color bottom (i-level 22-07 and later)	The color of the ambient lighting in the bottom part of the interior for the color setting “Ivory”.
Ambient lighting color 1	This option allows you to overwrite the default color “White” with your own color.
Ambient lighting color 2	This option allows you to overwrite the default color “Bronze” with your own color.
Ambient lighting color 3	This option allows you to overwrite the default color “Orange” with your own color.
Ambient lighting color 4	This option allows you to overwrite the default color “Blue” with your own color.
Ambient lighting color 5	This option allows you to overwrite the default color “Green” with your own color.
Ambient lighting color 6	This option allows you to overwrite the default color “Lilac” with your own color.
Ambient lighting color lower part	Select the desired color here that should be used as the color for the lower part of the ambient lighting if the color “bronze” is selected in the settings in the iDrive system in the vehicle.
Ambient lighting color top bar	Select the desired color here that should be used as the color for the top bar of the ambient lighting if the color “Bronze” is selected in the iDrive system settings in the vehicle.

Seat heating/cooling

Front backrests temperature level 1	The temperature of the front backrests for seat heating level 1.
Front backrests temperature level 2	The temperature of the front backrests for seat heating level 2.
Front backrests temperature level 3	The temperature of the front backrests for seat heating level 3.
Front seats temperature level 1	The temperature of the front seats for seat heating level 1.
Front seats temperature level 2	The temperature of the front seats for seat heating level 2.
Front seats temperature level 3	The temperature of the front seats for seat heating level 3.
Rear backrests temperature level 1	The temperature of the rear backrests for seat heating level 1.

Seat heating automatic activation (2 of 2)	The iDrive system can be used to set the seat heating to be activated automatically below a certain outside temperature. The option “Seat heating front automatic activation (1 of 2)” and/or “Seat heating rear automatic activation (1 of 2)” must also be activated in the “Headunit”.

Convenient opening/closing

Setting	Description
Convenient opening	Enable/disable the convenient opening. During convenient opening the windows are opened and the power folding mirrors are unfolded. For a convenient opening the unlock button on the remote control has to be pressed and held. When using Comfort Access, the door handle has to be gripped and held.
Convenient opening with remote control	Enable/disable the convenient opening with the remote control. For convenient opening with the remote control, the unlock button has to be pressed and held.
Convenient opening delay	The delay for the convenient opening before the windows are opened.
Convenient opening delay rear windows	The delay at which the rear windows are opened during convenient opening.
Convenient opening delay sunroof	The delay at which the sunroof is opened during convenient opening.
Convenient closing	Enable/disable the convenient closing. During convenient closing the windows are closed and the power folding mirrors are folded in. To trigger convenient closing the lock button on the remote control has to be pressed and held. Please note that this option does not work for convertibles.
Convenient closing with remote control	Enable/disable the convenient closing with the remote control. For convenient closing with the remote control, the lock button has to be pressed and held. Please note that this option does not work for convertibles.
Convenient closing with Comfort Access	Enable/disable the convenient closing with the Comfort Access. For convenient closing with the Comfort Access the door handle has to be touched and held at the ribbed surface. Please note that this option does not work for convertibles.
Convenient closing delay	The delay for the convenient closing before the windows are closed.
Convenient closing delay front windows	The delay at which the front windows are closed during convenient closing.
Convenient closing delay sunroof	The delay at which the sunroof is closed during convenient closing.

Mirrors

Setting	Description
Automatic mirror tilt	Enable/disable the automatic mirror tilt for the right mirror, when the reverse gear is engaged. Please note that your car has to be equipped with power folding mirrors. Make sure the button in the door for selecting the mirror is set to the driver side also.
Automatic mirror tilt value	The tilt value of the right mirror, when the reverse gear is engaged.
Unfold mirrors with convenient opening	Enable/disable the unfolding of the mirrors when using convenient opening.
Fold mirrors with convenient closing	Enable/disable the folding of the mirrors when using convenient closing. Please note that your car has to be equipped with power folding mirrors and that this option does not work for convertibles.
Steering wheel heating automatic activation (2 of 2)	The iDrive system can be used to set the steering wheel heating to be activated automatically below a certain outside temperature. The option “Steering wheel heating automatic activation (1 of 2)” must also be activated in the “Headunit”.
Fold/unfold mirrors automatically	The mirrors are folded automatically when the car is locked with the remote control or Comfort Access and unfolded when the car is unlocked. Please note that your car has to be equipped with power folding mirrors and that this option does not work for convertibles. Use a backup to revert this coding if needed after it has been applied.
Mirror unfolding speed threshold	The speed at which the mirrors are unfolded automatically.
Mirror folding speed threshold	The maximum speed at which the mirrors can be folded.

Headlight cleaning

Setting	Description
Headlight washers	Enable/disable the headlight washers.
Number of washing operations for headlight cleaning	The number of washing operations at which the headlight cleaning is turned on.
Water injection duration for headlight cleaning	The duration of the water injection pulses of the headlight cleaning system.
Headlight cleaning blocking time	The blocking time between headlight cleaning activations.
Headlight cleaning system deactivation speed threshold	The deactivation speed threshold at which the headlight cleaning system is deactivated.
Headlight cleaning pause between injection pulses	The pause between the injection pulses of the headlight cleaning system.
Number of water injection pulses during headlight cleaning	The number of water injection pulses during headlight cleaning.

Lighting

Setting	Description
Rain-light-sensor sensitivity	The sensitivity of the rain-light-sensor that affects the automatic wiper and light activation.
Automatic light control	The lighting switch position where the automatic light control is active. To prevent the low beam to come on when the switch is set to “0”, use the option “Active in position A”.
Fog lights off with high beam	Enable/disable the automatic switch-off of the fog lights when the high beam is turned on.
Fog lights with parking lights	Allows the fog lights to be turned on with parking lights.
Hazard warning signal after emergency braking	The hazard warning signal is activated automatically after an emergency braking.
Door handle lights when reverse gear is engaged	Enable/disable the automatic activation of the lights in the door handles when the reverse gear is engaged.
Exterior lighting switch-off allowed	Allow the exterior lights to be turned off when the engine is running.

Doors/windows

Setting	Description
Horn signal when locking the car with engine running	Enable/disable the horn signal that sounds when locking the car with the engine running.
Time until automatic lock	The car is locked automatically again if it has been unlocked and no door has been opened within the set time.
Window lifter interruption when opening a door	Enable/disable the window lifter interruption when a door is opened.
Rear window lifter interruption when opening a door	Enable/disable the rear window lifter interruption when a door is opened.
Unlock doors automatically	Enable/disable the automatic unlock of the doors when the ignition is turned off.

Driving mode

Driving mode memory	Enable the driving mode memory. The last used driving mode is stored when the car is turned off and restored on the next startup. Use a backup to revert this coding if needed after it has been applied.
SPORT+ driving mode (1 of 2)	Add the SPORT+ driving mode for cars that do not have this option by factory. Please note that “SPORT+ driving mode (1 of 2)” in the “Headunit” control unit has to be enabled additionally. Use a backup to revert this coding if needed after it has been applied. Do not use this if your car already has the SPORT+ driving mode!

Turn signals

Setting	Description
Turn signals flashing on locking	Number of turn signal flashes when locking the car.
Turn signals flashing on unlocking	Number of turn signal flashes when unlocking the car.

Tailgate

Setting	Description
Boot lid opening delay	The delay when opening the boot lid with the remote control. This value can be increased to prevent accidental openings of the boot lid.
Open tailgate after unlock only	The tailgate can only be opened after unlocking the car with the remote control. Please note that “Tailgate” has to be selected for the tailgate button in the settings in the iDrive system in the car.

Battery

Setting	Description
Battery type	The type and capacity of the 12 V battery. Please note that this value must only be modified if the battery in the car has been replaced. After coding, the battery replacement has to be registered using “BimmerLink” additionally.

Steering wheel heating

Setting	Description
Steering wheel heating memory	The activation of the steering wheel heating is saved and restored the next time the vehicle is started.
